Brief History
Haggerston Castle was originally a 13th century fortified manor
house, founded by John de Hagardestun. In 1345 Robert de Hagerston, was granted a licence to crenellate and he founded the
stone castle, when adding a strong and square tower. In 1618, a fire destroyed part of the castle and in the 18th century,
the tower was absorbed in the construction of a mansion. Rebuilt in the late 19th century, with a very tall, narrow tower,
the house was demolished in 1931. Leaving the mock L-plan tower to dominate a holiday park. 3 miles north-west is Ancroft
Vicar's Pele and 8 miles south-east is Belford castle.
We have been told that people have seen a little girl sitting on the
stairs down to the Tavern toilets, also there have been sightings of a Lady in the Tower and a little boy. Also a sighting
of a man standing at the bar in the Tavern before it was refurbished.

Team Investigation
Arrived at 11pm,the Site Manager met us and made us feel very welcome.
We were shown around the complex and given a room to put our equipment in. At Midnight we went up to the tower, which is a
very old building and quite intimidating to look at. After taking pictures we decided to conduct a seance,but before this
we went to check the top of the Tower to see if the door was closed, it was wedged shut with a shovel and there was no way
it could move unless it was moved by a member of the team. As the seance started all members of the team got goosebumps
even though they were hot, the temperature dropped very quickly and the team felt a cold presence around the circle.During
the seance lots of unexplained noises were heard in the room and also coming from the top of the Tower, one noise sounded
like metal being dragged across the the floor. We stopped the seance and went to investigate, to our surprise the top door
was open and the shovel had been moved, we went onto the roof and we heard footsteps running around.The investigation in the
Tower had been eventful with each member of the team experiencing some strange noise or feeling.
Later in the evening we carried out a seance in the Tavern bar, where
spirits have been seen standing at the bar. The seance proved uneventful and no noises or activity were picked up. After this
we took pictures in the bar and found orbs around the room, one picture was taken and what appears to be smoke is all over
the picture, but no one was smoking.
At 2am we decided to leave a camera recording in the Tower, just incase
we had missed something, looking back over the footage we picked up lots of noises in the room and many orbs. Some of the
orbs were very bright, and some moved very slowly around the room.
After having a coffee we went down to one of the cellars to do a seance,
during the seance one of the team said they heard someone breathing in the corner of the room, we asked if anybody was
there and we heard noises in response to our questions. Two of the team felt an uncomfortable presence watching them, and
one member felt someone breathing down their neck, which freaked them out. Another member of the team got so freaked out she
said she would not come back down with us later in the evening as she was too scared and felt there was something sinister
in the cellar.
Other investigations proved fairly uneventful, except for the owners
lounge where two of the team heard a childs voice, and after taking pictures we discoverd lots of orbs in the area where the
voice was heard.
For the final part of the evening we decided to go back to the cellar
to do another seance, this proved very interesting. During the seance a stack of chairs seemed to be moved across the room
slightly, and what sounded like a power switch being switched on when we asked for a noise to prove if any one was in the
cellar with us.

Conclusion
This was a very interesting place to investigate, we captured many orbs
on camera and picked up some unexplained noises during the night. The two main things we experienced were the chairs being
moved in the cellar and the door opening in the Tower, even though it was wedged shut.
All in all a great place to visit, and the staff could not have made
us more welcome.
